Pilot Knob Rotary Club is pleased to announce our newest members, Mary and Bill Ellis.
Pilot Knob Rotary Club is pleased to announce our newest members, Mary and Bill Ellis. They have been married for 57 years and have a son, a daughter and five grandchildren. Like many at Robson, they moved here to be closer to children and grandchildren. Mary retired from teaching after 33, teaching all the elementary grades and said, “the stories I could tell.” Bill retired from Bank of American after 37 years as a Farm & Ranch Trust Officer. They enjoy traveling and are getting familiar with all the fun activities at Robson since moving here in March.
The Ellis’ moved to Robson Ranch from Royse City where they were instrumental in starting the Rotary Club of Royse City in 2005. Bill was heavily involved in their Flag Program which provides American Flags to residents’ front yards on designated holidays. This program is a major fundraiser for Rotary Clubs. Mary shared that her passion is for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). This program is an intensive leadership training program organized by local Rotary clubs for youth and young adults aged 14 to 30. Mary shared she has witnessed the difference that attending a RYLA camp has made in students’ lives.
Pilot Knob Rotary Club is fortunate to have these experienced Rotarians joining our club and we look forward to keeping them busy sharing their wealth of Rotary knowledge with us.
